10 Days of Goal Setting

Hi everyone! These next 10 days are going to be very special! Why? Because starting TOMORROW I’m going to be sharing with you my Top 10 Life Goals!

I think that goal setting is very important for a multitude of reasons. First, it’s good to know what you want so that you have something to work towards. Second, it helps you to get your priorities straight. Thirdly, it gives you a sense of purpose, and an even bigger sense of fulfillment and accomplishment when you achieve those goals.

You can have a goal that can be accomplished in a week or one that can be accomplished in 10 years. There really aren’t any rules when it comes to goal setting; just make sure that your goals are somewhat reasonable and that you’re willing to work towards achieving them. It’s a lot easier to accomplish goals when you are passionate about achieving them!

When I’m setting goals, I like to use the SMART method. This helps my goals to be written perfectly so that I can clearly say, “Yes, I achieved that,” or, “No, I didn’t reach my goal.”

Motivation Monday

Happy Monday, everybody! I know that sometimes Mondays can be hard. You have to go back to work or school, and you have to take back all of your responsibilities. However, Monday is also a fresh, new start. However your day goes on Monday, that sets up how the rest of your week is going to go. So my goal with Motivation Monday is to help you to start off your week positively! If you can make it through Monday with a positive attitude, you can make it through anything with a positive attitude!

Every Monday I will share with you 10 powerful quotes about motivational subjects such as success, health, forgiveness, love, happiness, and inspiration. This week I’m going to share with you 10 quotes about following your dreams and finding happiness.

“All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” -Walt Disney

“Each of us has a fire in our hearts for something… Find it and keep it lit!” -Mary Lou Retton

“Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.” -Edgar Gayce

“Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.” -Dale E. Turner

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

“May your dreams defy the laws of gravity.” -H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

“Dreams don’t die until we let them.” -James Ojala

“I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” -Oprah Winfrey

“The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.” -Sarah Ban Breathnach

I’m so excited that you read these quotes this week because I’m a BIG dreamer! Why else would I be writing a blog at age 15? Don’t be afraid to go after your dreams, because if you believe enough in yourself, you can make anything happen. Have a FANTASTIC week, and don’t forget to dream!

Do you have a dream? Maybe you want to write a book, become a singer or actor/actress, or be an artist. My challenge for everyone this week is to think long and hard about your dreams, and do one small thing everyday to advance it. If you want to write a book, write a page a day, and in a year you’ll have a novel. Put yourself out there and find a community of others who have a similar dream, whether it be online or a physical group. You can do this! I believe in all of you!

What is your favorite quote this week (my favorites are #1 and #7)? What will you do to advance your dream?

Blessings to All,

Danielle 🙂

Smoothie Sunday: Strawberry Delight

Happy Sunday! Because today is a fresh start to a fresh new week, I’d like to share with you recipes for my favorite meal: fresh smoothies. Smoothies are amazing meals that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a midday snack that will keep you full for hours. You can literally put ANYTHING in a smoothie! That’s what’s so amazing about them: you can personalize smoothies with all of your favorite fruits and vegetables! For all of my smoothie recipes, it’s ALWAYS optional to add lettuce, spinach, kale, dandelion greens, arugula, parsley, and any other healthy vegetables that you desire. Also, for a milkshake-like thicker smoothie, add half of an avocado or a banana.

Today’s recipe is a gorgeous pink smoothie that will leave you wanting more. It’s a healthy combination of two classic flavors: strawberry banana and strawberry kiwi.

Ingredients

1 cup of frozen strawberries

1 kiwi

2 bananas

Water as needed

Directions

Blend and enjoy!

I hope your weekend was a blast, and blessings for an amazing week to come! Comment below how you enjoyed this smoothie and anything you added to it to make it even more amazing!

Blessings to All,

Danielle 🙂

10 Simple Tips for Reducing Stress

What is Stress?
While a lot of people experience stress, most don’t understand what it actually is. Stress, believe it or not, actually used to be a good thing, back when we didn’t stress out over everyday things in our lives. Stress is your body’s fight-or-flight response that helps you to react to dangerous situations. For example, if you’re out in the woods and all of a sudden a lion jumps out at you, your body’s stress signals go off like an alarm in your brain, telling you to jump back immediately, thus saving your life.

However, in the 21st century, stress has become an unfortunate part of our daily lives. There’s good stress and there’s bad stress, but unfortunately, bad stress is more common. Those instant panic attacks or anxiety flares that we get when hearing the words, “pop quiz,” or “assessment,” are not motivators to do your work, but instead counterproductive ways to get worked up and overthink everything. Whether it be work, school, tests, interviews, traffic, money, being a parent, or time issues, we all have bad stress in our lives.

Not only is stress not fun and not productive, but it’s also not healthy. Studies show that just 5 minutes of intense stress weakens your immune system for 5 hours, and we all know that we stress out for a lot longer than 5 minutes! In addition, stress increases your risk for developing heart disease, cancer, brain disease, diabetes, and more. Plus, it increases our anxiety, depression, cravings, and joint and muscle pain.
